The new file is named <name>-nobg-pro.png and lands in the same folder. Your original is never modified, moved or deleted.

Selecting thirty files does not add a single step. The menu even says so — it reads Remove Background (30 files) before you click. Inside, the model runs one image at a time so the machine stays usable, and each result is named so nothing overwrites anything. On a website you repeat find, upload and download thirty times, or you move to a paid bulk plan. Several of them offer one; the point is that their step count does not stay flat and ours does.
Recent macOS has its own Remove Background, right there in the menu, and it is two moves as well. Whether you see it depends on what is switched on under System Settings, Extensions, Finder — which is also why most people have never met it. Is my photo processed on my Mac?
The photo is processed on your Mac, never uploaded. Ricly does check your account and your remaining allowance, so it needs the network to run.
Which formats can I use?
JPG, JPEG, PNG, HEIC and TIFF. The result is always a PNG, because that is what carries transparency.
Can I do several photos at once?
Yes. Select them, right-click once, and each one gets its own file. Every image counts against the monthly allowance.
Where does the new file go?
Into the same folder as the original, named <name>-nobg-pro.png. Nothing is moved and nothing is replaced.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. This tool never sends the image off your Mac. One tool in Ricly does send files, Upload & Share, and it says so on its own page.
Do I need an account for the free tier?
Yes, a free one. It is what counts your monthly allowance and carries your licence if you upgrade later.
